Will WINTER never end!?

As I try to peer around the mounds of snow blocking the view from my cabin windows, it's hard to imagine that in a couple of month's time I will be looking at forest green. More than 14 feet of the white stuff have fallen so far this winter, with at least 3 to 4 of it still remaining on the ground. The roadway into our log cabin has narrowed to the width of our car with SUV-high banks on either side. Our ventures onto our property are now limited to thigh-high trenches we've shoveled to the various bird and deer feeders. And although the skiing has been good, recent snowfalls that added another yard of snow have rendered our backcountry trails very challenging. Let me tell you it's very tough work plowing through deep snow, particularly stuff that has been warmed by the March sun. But on the bright side, at least this hot sun is beginning to melt it. And then of course, we'll be faced with a new worry - flooding. We can only hope it doesn't melt too quickly. I've put together an album of photos from this memorable winter. Enjoy.

And I've just been told by my publisher that THE RIVER RUNS ORANGE will be out early, by the end of March. So start placing your orders at your favourite bookstore now to ensure that you get a copy.
